(iWIDK By Brittany Hahn) - What seems impossible can be conquered with a little help from your best friend. 

Dog from China, Dian Dian, learned to walk like a human after being born without his front legs. 

Dian Dian’s owner, Cen Lan, said that the pup used to squirm around the floor like a seal, pushing himself with his hind legs in attempt to move, reports Daily Mail.

Using kaynine kryptonite: food, Lan eventually trained Dian Dian to walk one foot in front of the other, like a human.

Now the two are inseparable; Dian Dian can be spotted taking little ‘walkies’ while sporting matching outfits with his trusty owner.

Talk about best friends forever.

(iWIDK By Brittany Hahn) – The best obituary, ever.

The daughter of an 80-year-old Florida man wrote him an obituary that was deemed “Best Obit Ever” in publications like the Herald Sun.  The obituary is now viral for any one to read… spoiler alert: it’s a real knee-slapper. 

The obituary describes Harry Weathersby Stamps as a “ladies man” who loved deviled eggs and buttermilk served in a martini glass, as written in The Blaze.

Mr. Stamps died this past Saturday, March 9th, the day before daylight savings time. His daughter, Amanda Lewis, wrote in the obit: “He particularly hated Daylight Saving Time, which he referred to as The Devil’s Time. It is not lost on his family that he died the very day that he would have had to spring his clock forward. This can only be viewed as his final protest.”

Lewis asks that in honor of her father people write to their congressman to repeal daylight savings time.

(iWIDK By Remus Lee) - A mother of a child with trisomy 21 hopes to make Down’s Syndrome child’s play.

Connie Feda, the mother of a child with Down Syndrome, is the creator of the Dolls for Downs project, an initiative to produce dolls that accurately depict the physical characteristics of those with Down’s Syndrome.

She started the project after failing to find a doll that sufficiently resembled her daughter, Hannah Feda, in terms of depicting Down’s Syndrome, according to The Huffington Post.

Connie Feda hopes that Dolls for Downs will help those with Down’s Syndrome develop the skills they need in daily life in addition to providing them with companionship.

Feda is planning to begin full Dolls with Downs operations later this year on May 1st.

Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) let a man use his Twitter account to propose to the politician’s press secretary.

Brett Wannamaker, a fourth-year medical student at John Hopkins University, thought of an interesting way to propose to his girlfriend.

Wannamaker asked Senator Mark Warner if he could use his Twitter account to propose to his girlfriend Beth Adelson, Senator Warner’s press secretary.

According to NY Daily News, the senator obliged and Adelson said yes.

‘Call Me Maybe’ songstress Carly Rae Jepsen recently tweeted that she pulled out of performing for the Boy Scouts of America due to their homophobia.

TMZ reports that the Canadian singer will not participate with the institution based on their ban on openly gay scouts.

“As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer.”

Rock band Train was to perform along side Jepsen, but they too have opted out of the Jamboree until the BSA changes their stance on equality.

A gay couple adopted the baby they found abandoned in a Manhattan subway station twelve years ago, in a heartwarming story.

According to Peter Mercurio, in a Times Opinionator column, his partner Danny found a one-day old baby at the A/C/E subway exit on Eight Avenue.

Global Post reports that after some hesitation by Mercurio, the couple decided to keep the baby, naming him Kevin.

Throughout the adoption process, Mercurio wondered about the judge who’d put this entire plan in action.

All of us who snowboard know how annoying it is with all of those bulky layers on… well these women in Siberia, Russia decided to strip down to their undergarments and snowboard in -40 degree temperatures. 

According to Daily Mail, Siberia isn’t known as the place to go for a good time, so they invented this new sport: bikini snowboarding.

The resort in Siberia is known to have “the best snow” in Russia according to the World Snowboard Guide. And now, the best-looking women.

Hopefully these ladies don’t get severe frostbite.

London scientists are working to create a new pill that can sober-up boozers in seconds. 

According to Zee News, so far they’ve created a concoction containing two enzymes that drastically decrease blood alcohol levels.

They are experimenting on mice by getting them drunk and then injecting them with the enzymes to see if they “sober-up.”

The concoction is not ready to be tested on humans, sorry people.

(iWIDK By Brittany Hahn) – He couldn’t physically be there, so technology made all the difference. 

A soldier’s wife, Katy Gibbs, had her second baby while her husband was stationed in Afghanistan. However, husband Paul Gibbs got to watch the entire thing via Skype.

“I love the makers of Skype,” Katy said. “It’s been really good to have Skype because he was there for the ultrasound and he got to see different things like that.”

According to KSL, Katy found out she was pregnant soon after he’d been deployed. She already had a 3-year-old at home and carried this baby alone for the nine months.

Skype made it feel like Daddy had never left in the first place.

Laura King, 28, was thrilled to find that four dollars were deducted from her receipt at an Italian restaurant in Washington for having “well behaved kids” last Friday. 

According to The Washington Times, the restaurant, Sogno di Vino, was fancy with fireplaces, candles, and fine bottles of wine.

“This was definitely a random act of kindness,” King told the Daily News. “We didn’t go to the restaurant expecting a reward. We expect our kids to act this way whenever we are out and about. This was just a small surprise.”

The owner of the restaurant, Rob Scott, said this was the first time he had done this.

(iWIDK By Lauren Keough) - A trio of high school students displayed their good hearts.

Zeke Grissom, Jesse Cooper, and Drew Gibbs were the official nominees for Unionville Community High School’s homecoming celebration on Friday, but all three agreed to step down and give the crown to a disabled classmate Scott Maloney. 

Maloney was born with a neurological disorder called Williams Syndrome that inhibits learning and speech,

According to Daily Mail, at the official announcement, despite Cooper’s win, the school principal told the gathered crowd what the three nominees had decided to do.

Next year, Maloney will get to crown the school’s new homecoming king.

(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – What this doctor prescribed contradicts our opinions on tanning salons.

Unlike the rest of New Jersey, dedicating their time, money, and healthy skin cells to tanning beds, Medford High School senior and basketball star Josh Borelli was actually told by his doctor to hit the salon once a day in order to alleviate his Mucha-Habermann, the autoimmune skin disease he was diagnosed with in 8th grade.

The disease, which, until recently, had gone into remission, causes Borelli to develop small rashes all over his body, similar looking to chicken pox only not contagious, but deadly.

Mucha-Habermann is so rare that doctors  most likely won’t even come across a case in their life’s practice.

Dr. Doris Day, a dermatology professor at NYU Medical told ABC “it’s something that we read about but don’t see,” and it is believed that Borelli may be the only known case in the country right now.

For eight minutes every day, plus heavy medication, Borelli goes tanning to smooth his complexion.

Jump shot still intact, Borelli says of his condition “there’s people out there worse off than I am so I’m real lucky.”

(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – A mother gave her daughter the gift of life.

After she had her uterus removed at 13 for health issues, Fernanda Medeiros, 34, asked her 51-year-old mother to act as a surrogate.  On Monday in Goiânia, Brazil, Maria da Gloria, now a grandmother, gave birth to two healthy twin girls belonging to her daughter. 

The babies, named Emmanuel and Julia, were delivered via C-section four weeks early.

In order to become pregnant, da Gloria was required to lose over 20 pounds and restart her menstrual cycle with the aid of strong hormones.

For years doctors had told Gloria it was unsafe for her health to attempt IVF, and Medeiros had been denied her adoption requests.

“It was so sad because I had always wanted to be a mother,” Medeiros told Daily Mail.

Finally, after six years of testing, doctors found safe methods to ensure the barren woman would have children by means of her own mother – 2 IVF attempts later and da Gloria was pregnant.

Says the new mom, “I couldn’t be happier.”
