(iWIDK By Remus Lee) - The former treasurer of a Girl Scout troop 798 did a bad turn, according to investigators.

49-year-old Darlene Jo Lewis was arrested on charges of stealing $9,800 from her daughter’s Girl Scout troop over the course of two years.

According to the Georgia Daily News, Lewis spent the money she nicked from the troop to pay for a senior dating service and for gifts for her son.

As a result of the loss of funds, Troop 798 is disbanding.

Lewis is being held at the Douglas County Jail on felony theft charges.

(iWIDK By Lauren Keough) - A “gay dog” is going to be killed. 

A dog in Tennessee may be euthanized Thursday because its owner believes he is “gay.”

According toThe Examiner, the dog was seen “hunched over” another male dog, therefore, in this owner’s mind, the dog must be gay.

The former owner apparently does not know that “hunched over,” or a humping behavior is typically a sign of dominance in dogs, rather than something to signify a dog’s sexual orientation.

The dog is sentenced to die at 1 PM Thursday.

(iWIDK by Aaron Lanton) - A troubled mother made a tragic decision.

In Dallas, Texas, 43-year-old cancer survivor Angelica Vazquez fatally shot her husband and two adult children, ages 18 and 21, before committing suicide. 

According to The Global Dispatch, police were called to the home of the Vazquez family after neighbors claimed to hear gunshots, but there were no signs of forced entry, which led everyone to assume nothing awry had occurred.

Four days later, one of the same officers returned to the address to find a full mailbox and uncollected newspapers on the front lawn.

After weighing their options, the local police department decided to force their way into the home where they found the four dead bodies.

No motive has been determined.

(iWIDK By Lauren Keough) - A toddler was rushed to the hospital after being exposed to drugs and alcohol. 

Samantha Delvalle was arrested with her boyfriend, Raymond Earl Mabery and charged with child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and being intoxicated from drugs.

The toddler believed to be drunk and high on meth was rushed to the hospital after his grandmother came to pick him up from his California home.

The Philo two-year-old was said to have “reeked of alcohol,” “looked ill” and to have been surrounded by drug paraphernalia when she arrived.

According to Daily Mail, Delvalle and Maybery were suspected of being drunk and high on drugs when deputies arrived at the Philo home where the child lived.

Maybery and Delvalle were held at the Mendocino County Jail after they were unable to pay $25,000 bail.

(iWIDK By Alex Dorian) – 7 men and 5 women will determine the fate of a woman accused of a particularly heinous crime.

Lindsey Lowe, a 26-year-old woman from Hendersonville, TN, was brought to trial in Gallatin this morning to answer to two counts of felony murder, two counts of premeditated murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse after she smothered her newborn twins to death.

According to News Channel 5, the incident occurred September of 2011 after Lowe gave birth in the bathroom of her parents’ home and attempted to muffle the cries of her newborn twins so that her parents wouldn’t hear the commotion.

Apparently, the pregnancy was the result of an affair with a man from Kentucky, which prompted Lowe to hide the pregnancy from her parents and her then fiancé.

Prosecutors claim they will not seek the death penalty.

(iWIDK By Rebecca Arden) – These parents had to take responsibility for what they did to their son. 

David and Pamela Martin were arrested on two felony charges after police found their 17-year-old son handcuffed to a pole in their basement. 

KCTV5 reports that a judge ruled for the 17-year-old to remain in foster care, because he has made an amazing recovery since being placed with his foster family.

Police found the boy a month ago, starving, and handcuffed to a pole in his father’s basement. He weighed near 105 pounds.

He had been locked in the basement since September. His biological mother, Sandy Wilson, claimed to know nothing of the abuse.

His father, David and his stepmother Pamela have been charged with felony restraint and abuse of a child.

He know weighs in at much healthier 150, thanks to eating blueberry pancakes with his foster family. He hopes to gain 5 to 10 more pounds to help him play football for his new high school.

Wilson hopes her son will one day live with her, but the judge ruled that he will stay in foster care until he turns 18.

Steven Deuman, of Peshawbestown, MI, was sentenced to life in prison after he orally raped his 3-month old daughter on a Chippewa/Ottawa Indian reservation in September of 2011.

According to The Traverse City Record-Eagle, Deuman allegedly told police his daughter had fallen out of bed, but a federal autopsy report showed that the girl had died of asphyxiation.

Deuman’s lawyer, Richard Stroba, claimed that Deuman suffered from fetal alcohol syndrome, a condition that greatly affected his ability to discern right from wrong.

Apparently, federal authorities became involved upon learning that the crime occurred on tribal land.

(iWIDK By Lauren Keough) -  A mother stabbed and killed her daughter.

Victoria Vovchik, 45, killed her daughter, a student at Woodglen Elementary School, inside their home on Quarry Drive in north New City.

According to ABC New York, both the mother and the daughter, identified by a relative as Ava, were found in the master bedroom, which authorities said was covered in blood.

Residents near the home on Quarry Drive said Vovchik, a podiatrist with offices in New Jersey, seemed to be a loving mother.

Investigation is ongoing.

(iWIDK By Alex Dorian) – An elderly woman witnessed a brutal murder.

36-year-old Phillip Raymond Hernandez, from South Natomas, CA, was charged with the heinous murder of his 9-year-old son, Matthew Hernandez.

According to The Sacramento Bee, when Matthew’s great-grandmother saw Hernandez wielding a hatchet, standing over the sleeping 9-year-old, she tried to intervene but was viciously knocked against the wall.

Apparently, Hernandez has been in a custody battle with his ex-wife for the past ten years and was charged with felony kidnapping in 2001.

His arraignment is set for Friday.

(iWIDK By Lauren Keough) - A drunk father was arrested for killing his baby.

Edward Doyle, 28, of Hatboro, is facing child-endangerment charges after the death of his two-month-old daughter Makayla.

According to Daily Mail, Doyle told detectives he was carrying the child and hit a baby swing in the living room while he was walking. He fell and landed on top of her and then proceeded to place the child back into the swing.

Makayla was found unresponsive in the family’s apartment on Sunday morning, according to court documents.

She was taken to Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Doyle is being held on $1million bail.

A 40-year-old man holding the title of foster parent was found to be continually raping his three adopted kids over the past several years.

The discovery was a shock to neighbors. According to April Long, a next-door neighbor, the man would help out around the neighborhood — picking up the mail, and mowing lawns.

The children that were, unknown to their neighbors, being raped at the time would be seen playing outside often, reports Idaho Statesman.

Interestingly, the man said during an interview at the Miami County Jail, “I always wanted to protect kids.”

(iWIDK By Brittany Hahn) – What a terrible way to start a new life. 

Jacqueline Saxon, a childcare bus driver, stopped the bus after a parent flagged her down saying that she saw a baby wrapped in a blanket on the ground in the childcare center’s faculty parking lot. 

Saxon called her director immediately, and upon arrival director Nicole Carter went over to the baby and determined that he was in acceptable heath.

According to WSVN, the baby boy still had the umbilical chord attached and paramedics were immediately called to the scene.

Last reported, the baby is in great condition as deputies are still searching for the mother.

The parents of a Gary, Indiana child were sentenced to prison after their neglect and abuse led to his death.

Kimberly Kubina, 47, recently plead guilty to felony neglect charges involving the death of her stepson, 13-year old Christian Choate.

According to The Huffington Post, Choate was confined in a three-foot-high dog cage for at least the last year of life, only being let out to eat and use the bathroom.

An autopsy revealed that Choate sustained blunt force trauma to his body, internal bleeding, and a skull fracture some time before death.

His body was recovered after an older sibling informed authorities of the situation.

Choate’s father, 40-year old Riley Choate, pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against his wife last month in exchange for a shorter prison sentence.

He will spend the next eighty years behind bars.
