Parents Sue School Of Their 6-year-Old Transgender Girl – School Forced Her To Use BOYS’ Bathroom

(iWIDK By Omar Guzman) – A 6-year old transgender child was forced out of school by the district board.

The parents of Coy Mathis, a 6-year old transgender girl, are suing a Colorado school district after their daughter was not allowed to use the girls’ bathroom.

School officials at Eagleside Elementary School in Fountain, CO told 6-year old Coy Mathis that she could only use bathrooms designated for boys, faculty, or one in the nurse’s office.

Mathis, who is a transgender girl, was not allowed to use the girls’ bathroom.

Her parents are now filing a formal complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Division.

Attorney W. Kelly Dude, who represents schools in the district, says that there is no legal precedent which states that the school must allow Mathis to use the girls’ bathroom.

The entire ordeal left Mathis in tears.

According to the Huffington Post, Coy’s mother Kathryn says that her daughter is now scared that “everyone would know she was born a boy.”

Oh hell, Its not like the parents set up the operation already. They are letting her be what she wants to be, if she changed her mind later, I am sure they would be just as supportive. Yes, she is only 6, she doesn’t know what she really wants, but its the parents job to be supportive. She is lucky to have them.

no way at that age they know they want to be a girl. He is only 6. They probably wanted a girl and the boy is just trying to please them. They need counselling for sure!

Honestly, I think the school is right. That child is not old enough to know whether or not they want to be a boy/girl. The child is a boy, whether they want to hide that fact or now so he should be using the boys bathroom. Good luck with suing the school. Not being douchebags, just being truthful.

WTF? This child is being who she is. Leave her be. Her parents are doing what a good parent should…nurturing and loving a child, despite of difference. People like you should be the ones shamed. Douchebags.
