Carmen Tarleton, a 44-year-old registered nurse from Vermont, has received a full face transplant at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s hospital.
Tarleton, who was burned by lye during an attack in 2007, was the fourth patient to receive a full face transplant at the hospital.
According to Value News, the 15-hour transplant that involved her neck, nose, lips, facial muscles, arteries, and nerves should improve Tarleton’s ability to use her mouth and alleviate the pain in her neck caused by scarring.
Tarleton is in good spirits after the surgery, as she has discovered that positivity was the only thing that would get her through this terrifying tragedy.

now, if you were to say it’s culture and not race that determines things like crime rate, you’d be on to something. in the US there are far more murders committed per capita than in europe, for example it’s 4 time higher in the US than in the Netherlands. and compared to japan it’s 12 times as much.
on the other hand in the middle east and india there are far more crimes committed against women then on western countries. things like rape are more common there.
