(iWIDK By Omar Guzman) – Whatever happened to time-outs?
A former daycare worker will spend 8 months in jail for drenching a toddler’s food with hot sauce.
Rosie Hicks, 50, recently plead guilty to one count of child abuse by injury and no contest to another charge of child abuse.
Hicks, who was once employed by the Muscogee Creek Nation Child Development Center in Oklahoma, was captured in a surveillance video feeding a 13-month old boy a plate of green beans.
After a few bites, the boy is shown bursting in to tears while Hicks laughed.
Tracy Owens, 37, is also facing charges for aiding Hicks.
According to Opposing Views, Owens admitted to purchasing a bottle of Habanero sauce per Hicks’ request and witnessed the young boy’s meal being covered in hot sauce.
Hicks was sentenced to an 8-year suspended sentence but will be required to serve 8 months in Okfuskee Count jail.
Her accomplice, Owens, is expected to stand trial on March 11th.
