(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – A second look into a bizarre death revealed a despicable truth.

Although it was clear on Sept. 12, 2008 that “Baby JM” of Ocean County, NJ died at only 11-months of heroin intoxication, it was only recently illuminated that parents Rondel Moore and Denise Manco had in fact purposefully given the baby the drug.
Originally, Moore and Manco denied they had any knowledge of how heroin would end up in their baby’s body, and forensics just couldn’t quite link them to the incident.
Though some closed the doors on the case, a handful of investigators, supported by prosecutor Marlene Lynch-Ford, kept at it and finally connected the missing pieces.
In court, Moore and Manco pleaded guilty to actually placing the heroin on Baby JM’s gums as a relief to his teething.
Appalled, Seaside Heights Police Chief Thomas Boyd commented to nj.com reporters, “what goes through people’s minds sometimes is unfathomable. You just sit back and you ask ‘Is the world going crazy, or am I?’”
The parents have their sentencing on February 22, where they could end up in prison for 10 years on second-degree manslaughter charges.
