(iWIDK By Lauren Keough) – Two teams were suspended after a fight broke out during a relay race.
At this past weekend’s Hispanic Games, a brawl broke out between a pair of New York high school 4×400-meter relay squads midway through the third heat.
According to Espn1420, the fight began when sophomore Rai Benjamin, a sophomore from Mount Vernon High School in New York, collided with a runner from Thomas Jefferson High School.
The two teams were initially suspended indefinitely from future competition at New York City’s Armory.
The fate of the Thomas Jefferson team has not yet been determined.
