(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – Passengers on a morning cruise were jerked and jostled.

At 8:45 Wednesday morning a ferry docking in lower Manhattan’s Pier 11, between South Street and Gouverneur Lane, crashed into the docks, leaving over 50 people on board with injuries requiring medical attention.
The New York Fire Department responded immediately, but the cause of the accident has yet to be identified.
The ferry, which was carrying 300 passengers, suffered a huge, visible gash on its starboard side.
Local news reporters caught up with those on board who walked away shaken, but physically unharmed.
Chris Avore described the experience as being similar to a “car crash” and that “no one knew what was going on,” as reported by the New York Times.
As the wreckage begins to settle, further details explaining the cause of the accident will be illuminated.
