(iWIDK By Janine Mullaney) – Pit Bulls used to be a symbol of America.

Just like the Bald Eagle, the Pit Bull was another animal that represented our nation.

Pit Bulls used to serve our country, working with our soldiers in many wars like the Civil War and Vietnam. They have received more military honors than any other breed.

Tests done on this breed have shown them to be very tolerant. Our nation’s history with these dogs has shown us a great loyalty that we have seen in few other breeds.

Enter humans, needing to take advantage of anything positive in our world. People began training, abusing, and demeaning the good name of our great Pit Bull with dog fighting.

Now this breed has been dubbed a threat to our society and so quickly we have forgotten of the great friendship and service they have shown us in our past.
