In Camarillo, California, 18-year-old Andrew Delgado entered a no plea contest for animal cruelty and arson after murdering the 3-year-old basset hound, Buddy, by setting him on fire with lighter fluid.
According to the Denver Post, Delgado was under the influence of drugs when he committed the crime.
The maximum sentence available for Delgado is three months behind bars.
He has not provided a motive for his actions.
