Mother, 20, In Hospital After Murder-Suicide Bid – Murdered Her 6-MONTH-OLD SON

(iWIDK by Aaron Lanton) - A family is in mourning after they were unable to alert police in time.  

In Ocala, Florida, Melainie Reyes, 20, is in critical condition after fatally shooting her 6-month old son and turning the gun on herself. 

According to WPTV 5, authorities came to Reyes’ home to perform a a welfare check at the request of the family after she posted a Facebook status that “indicated she was going to shoot her child and herself.”

Reyes and her son were taken to a local hospital where the boy was pronounced dead.

Roughly two weeks before this incident, Reyes was arrested for aggravated domestic battery after her boyfriend claimed she struck him with a baseball bat.
