(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – A rare medical condition left a man’s vision a bit fuzzy.

A 19-year-old Iranian man had a 5mm tumor on his eyeball removed on January 2 after the growth, called a limbal dermoid, began to grow small black hairs and almost caused him to lose his sense of sight.
This type of tumor, which the man was born with, is made of tissue that typically is found on dermal parts of the body – areas where hair follicles are common.
This tissue, however, grew just outside of the man’s cornea.
Fox News spoke with NYC’s Fromer Eye Center director Dr. Mark Fromer, who said most doctors will “see just one or two cases during his career,” and detailed that had the tumor not developed hair, it could have developed “cartilage and sweat glands.”
Luckily, the Iranian man’s vision was unharmed after his bizarre, but successful surgery.
