jewel thieves burrow into KFC instead of jewlery store

Peter Welsh, 31, and Dwayne Doolan, 31, of Beaudesert, Australia, were arrested for an array of burglary charges after they failed to break into a Wrights Jewellers store on three occasions.

According to New York Daily News, Doolan and Welsh had attempted to break the store glass with firecrackers (fail), force their way through a back entrance (good effort), and then tried to break through the wall of a shopping mall bathroom.

As opposed to breaking through the tiled wall and finding dazzling displays of jewelry all for the taking, the dynamic duo found themselves in a KFC and decided to hold up the store – making away with $2,600.

Welsh was denied bail due to a past criminal record. Doolan was given bail of an unspecified amount.
