(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – An over-protective ex created a very bloody, public scene.

Edith Rojas stabbed to death by stalking ex boyfriend

After ending their relationship eight months ago because of how suffocating it became, Edith Rojas, 19 continued to face harassment to the point of stalking by former boyfriend Jonathan Pena Castillo, 21, until he ended things for good by stabbing her to death in front of her family and neighbors in Manhattan on Monday afternoon.

Their entire relationship consisted mostly of Castillo demanding to see Rojas every day, and calling her non-stop when he couldn’t.

At some point, it turned into showing up at her family’s home unexpected; Rojas was driven to break things off.

Ronny Peralta, 27, Rojas brother, accounted for Castillo’s obsessive behavior, post-break-up, commenting to the NY Post that “he had problems, like he was a possessive guy…always calling her, always harassing her…he thought that she was with somebody else. So he kept showing up around.”

On the fateful day of Rojas’ murder, Castillo approached her outside her apartment and openly stabbed her, then watched her bleed to death.

He ran as soon as those who would recognize him chased after him, and was later found in a nearby park where he lay on the ground with self-inflicted stab wounds.

Rojas, who was a medical assistance student at Bronx Community College, is mourned by her family while Castillo will be held in custody after he recovers at St. Luke’s Hospital.
