In Louisville, Kentucky, the Kentucky Court of Appeals has made the decision that Philip Seaton will not be awarded damages for a lawsuit he filed against Dr. John Patterson after the surgeon removed part of his penis to save him from cancer without consulting Seaton or his wife.

According to Inquistir, the surgery was supposed to only be a routine circumcision, but Dr.Patterson noticed the growth on Seaton’s penis while removing the foreskin.

Needless to say, Seaton was infuriated when he woke up from surgery and discovered that Dr.Patterson had removed an inch of flesh from his penis.

Seaton sought close to $16 million for “‘loss of service, love and affection.’”

The jury decided that Dr.Patterson was not at fault because the removal performed was necessary to save Seaton’s life.

Why didnt he perform the circumcision as planned and then when the patient had recovered from that surgery, notify the patient of his findings and give him the opportunity to consent? Was the patient going to die if that surgery was not performed immediately? This man should have been awarded damages.
