(iWIDK By David Giltinan/Ultra Mega Death Ray) - Samuel L. Jackson pleads his case to be in the new Star Wars films whether it’s as Mace Windu or… a stormtrooper? Read on to find out!

Yep.

With the next era of Star Wars movies coming upon us, there’s bound to be rumors thrown left and right on what or even who to expect. Until we have some official proof, we can take what the likes of Mark Hamill and George Lucas have to say with a grain of salt. Samuel L. Jackson though? Oh, you best believe we’re listening!

Jackson portrayed Jedi Master Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy. It was in Revenge of the Sith where we last saw him get his hand lopped off and sent through a window to his death. How would he fit in the mold then in the new films starting with Episode 7? Jackson makes the case below.

“He just went out the window. He’s a Jedi! He could have landed on a ledge.”
“It’s like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when Episode IV started, so maybe everyone thinks I’m dead and we’ll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that’s still around that didn’t actually die.”
“I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don’t care. I just want to stay associated with the franchise. Not that I won’t because I’ve been in three of them.”

While those are all very plausible reasons, Jackson seems content being a part of the franchise in any capacity in case his character doesn’t return.

“Look, you don’t have to give me a part. All I need to do is put on one of those white fucking Stormtrooper outfits and run across the screen. I’ll know that I’m in it. Nobody needs to know, I don’t care. I just want to say, ‘I’m in that shit.’ I don’t have to have a credit. I don’t have to have anything. I’ll know!”

The man is committed! Hopefully when real talk on the script surfaces, we’ll see the Jedi Master return one way or another. I think if he was going to, it would have to be the ghost hologram idea considering how much time will have passed between Episode 3 and Episode 7. If we’re to see Mace Windu still alive and kicking, it might need to be some sort of spinoff film. Perhaps we can see more characters get that treatment as well namely the space bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Until then, the latest bit of Mace Windu we’ve been treated to was at the VGA awards. Samuel L. Jackson being the host was also implemented into nominated games such as The Walking Dead, Dishonored, and Angry Birds Star Wars (pictured below).
