Woman Avoids Jail After Giving Birth In Bathroom Stall – Abandoned Newborn Baby In Toilet

(iWIDK by Daniel Kiely) - A woman avoided jail time after her unusual bathroom experience.

Jessica Blackham of Greenville, South Carolina, pleaded guilty to infliction of great bodily injury to a child  after she left her newborn son in a toilet after giving birth in bathroom while attending the circus.

According to Huffington Post,  a cleaning crew found the newborn boy clinging to life, his head just above the water in the toilet, with his body temperature only 85 degrees.

Blackham claimed she was unaware of the pregnancy and does not remember giving birth, but went to a doctor the following day because she was bleeding heavily.

The baby has recovered and is developing normally. Blackhman has since given up her parental rights of the child.
