Christina Aguilera Images Return For ‘Dying Grandparent’ Search

Typing the words ‘dying grandparent’ into the Google Image Search window retrieves a bevy of photographs of Christina Aguilera.

Buzzfeed is responsible for uncovering the most hilarious online moment of the past week.

The reason behind this happening, sadly, is not because Christina sounds, looks, dresses, and acts like a dying grandparent.

Huffington Post explains that due to “a quirk in Google’s algorithm”, X-Tina’s image was linked to the searched term because of a story posted by Radar Online titled ‘Christina Aguilera Snubs Dying Grandparents‘.

The story was so popular that the number of hits increased the association between the two terms, so that it eventually overtook other related stories.

I don’t really care why it happened, I’m just glad it did–I have been telling everyone I know to do this all day.
