(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – This inked up granny refused to let her health hold her back.

Sick of traditional wigs and fashion hats, and lacking self-esteem, 60-year-old Anne McDonald of Edinburgh spent twelve hours letting artist Pete Gillespie tattoo a black floral design on her entire scalp, left completely bald due to her alopecia.
A self-attacking immune disease, alopecia leaves its victims without hair, often at earlier ages than normal.
Anne admitted she felt hideous at times and became depressed because of how she looked.
With a long-standing curiousity for body art, three years of being bald, and the support of her husband, five children, and grandchildren, Anne bit the bullet and got the $1,159 piece permanently etched into her head.
“It feels so much better than wearing a wig. I’m not too fussed what people in the street think,” Anne revealed after the ordeal, as quoted by the Huffington Post. “As long as I’m happy.”
