(iWIDK by John Latchaw) – If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor of California, anything is possible.
Ashley Judd may try to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in 2014.
According to Huffington Post, sources say that the actress is “‘serious’ about the potential move to politics.”
The Washington Post has reported that Judd has reached out to pollsters, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, spoken to EMILY’s List, and has the praise of Kentucky Representative John Yarmuth (D): “The money would pour in here as soon as she entered the race.”
Judd hasn’t said yes or no to the rumors of her political objectives, but released this statement last month: “I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I’m very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let’s focus on coming together to keep moving America’s families, and especially our kids, forward.”
Judd holds a masters in public administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
Best of luck to her!
