(iWIDK By Allie Beauregard) – The engineers behind the world’s tallest building are at it again – aiming to surpass it with a new building in record time.

Broad Group has announced that beginning in 2013 a skyscraper named Sky City will be constructed in Changsha, China at a pace of 5 storeys a day to be completed in 90 days – making it the new tallest building in the world at 220 stories, or, 2,649 feet.
Currently the tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, standing at 2,722 feet and cost $15,000 per square meter to build.
Sky City will be 95% constructed from prefabricated material at an astonishing cost of only $1,500 per square meter.
The building will not only hold a school and a hospital but housing for over 31,000 people with low-income and luxury options, revealed Voice of America.
Once the Chinese government gives its approval for the construction, the race is on.
