Boy, 13, On Verge Of Becoming America’s Youngest Prison Lifer After Killing His 2-Year-Old Brother

(iWIDK By Nina Hoffman) - 13-year-old Christian Fernandez may become the youngest prison lifer in America after killing his younger brother.

Cristian Fernandez murdered 2 year old brother jail for life

Christian has been charged with the 2011 murder of his 2-year-old brother and the sexual abuse of his 5-year-old half-brother.

Prosecutors say Christian was left home alone with his younger siblings and when his 25 year old mother Biannela returned, she found 2-year-old David unconscious.

Autopsy reports indicate that David suffered a fractured skull, bruising to the left eye and bleeding in the brain.

According to Press Herald, Biannela waited 8 and a half hours before taking the child to hospital and subsequently in March was charged with manslaughter and faces a 30 year sentence.

Christian’s path to murder is one marred by a life of horrific tragedy- born to a 12-year-old mother who was sexually assaulted by a man more than twice her age, put in foster care after being discovered wandering the streets of South Florida at aged 2 after being found at 4am while his grandmother did cocaine in a hotel room.

His struggles didn’t end there. After coming to school with a disturbing eye injury at age 8, he told authorities his step-father had been abusing him.

When police arrived at the family home they found the man dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

From there, Christian turned from a straight A student to being accused of sexually molesting an older cousin, killing animals and masturbating in class.

And then, in 2011, the murder of his brother.

Prosectors in Florida now must decide whether to charge Christian as an adult or as a juvenile.

If tried and convicted as an adult, Christian will face a lifetime prison sentence.

This boy has a classic case of reactive attachment disorder- RAD. It’s common in foster children. He needs intervention not prison. A good resource is “Breaking the Bonds of Attachment” or “Troubled Transplants”. I hope he gets the help that he needs.

rebecca olesen November 18, 2012 at 3:22 pm: RAD is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to ‘fix’. He sounds more like a flat sociopath. Also, what the hell is the deal with her mother? She’s covered up with kids, leaving the kids alone, and for all we know SHE killed the 2 year old. Head injury, normal parental abuse stuff.

Sorry but it is way past time any help could be available for him, molesting an older cousin when he was 8, killing animals. It’s a complicated situation.

i say if he’s old enough 2do the crime he’s old enough 2 do the time i hate 2 think how he’ll be as an adult we dnt need anymore physcos i say put him in a padded cell y leave him there he might enjoy prison

Although I have to agree in this case, the kid is totally 100% probably GONE and unsaveable. No one intervened when he was younger, his crap sack of garbage mother allowed her husband to abuse the boy (obviously severely, he killed himself before the cops got there so I guess he probably raped hiim) the mother herself was raped at 12, the mothers mother a cocaine addict. I can’t believe the kids were ever returned to the biological mother.
But beginning his sexual assault career at age 8, killing animals, I mean just – this kids gone.

I object to the generalization that any youth who perpetrates any crime should be treated as an adult, including murder, and the circumstances are always different.

Just looking at the little puke face makes me wish they still did hangings! YES HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ACTIONS! HE KNEW RIGHT FROM WRONG! You damn bleeding hearts are why these little bastards get by with this kind of shit! What good is he to society? If it was your child that he murdered or fucked up the ass you would want his little fuzzy head on a platter! Stop feeling sorry for these demented little no count fuckers!

His mother was a 12 year old rape victim and he is a product of that rape. His mother came from a drug addict! Are you missing that fact? This kid was screwed from the start. This kid needs pshycological help. He should not go to prison but I’m not sure he could ever be released into society again…

He SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN HELP a LONG TIME AGO – it’s just too late. The kid never should have been allowed back with the mother – sorry she got raped and everything, but SHE allowed her husband to molest and beat this boy, she never got him any help, she had more kids, each and every kid should have been removed from her home and her parental rights should have been taken away.

Yes, it’s a sad messed up situation all around – but, this kid here??? He’s going to kill, and he is a socipath and probably a sexual sadist, there’s just no way to treat people with those mental disorders. Untreatable.
Too bad american spends BILLIONS HELPING crap muslim countries, etc., when they should be spending that money on mental health services for Americans.

If you are over the age of 8, you know damn well what right and wrong is. The path of this kid is tragic, but he still knows what he did was wrong

I live in Jacksonville and Angela Corey the prosecutor in this case is a basket case. She has NO buisness trying a CHILD as an adult. I am for being tough on crime, but we need to be able to exersize common sense into issues like this. He killed his brother, and molested his other sibling. His MOTHER needs to be the one punished more than this child.

He should be observed mentally. Then he should go though extream therapy. Not an entire life. Older people did worse for a lesser sentence.
