(iWIDK By Alex Dorian) - Sara Alvarez of Sunnyvale, CA was driven to a hospital in Redwood after she lost sensation in her left foot and right leg while at the park with her children.

Medical Daily details that after doctors diagnosed her with likely conditions such as a brain tumor, a CT scan showed that a tapeworm had calcified in her brain and had spawned numerous offspring.
Though the operation itself was life-threatening, physicians at Redwood performed surgery and removed the tapeworms.
According to researchers, tapeworm larvae possess hook-like teeth that are used to infiltrate the intestines and travel to various parts of the body.
