Horrible Father Abandons Family For New Life – Leaves Son With CANCER, Daughter With DOWN SYNDROME

(iWIDK By Mike Finiello) - Hans Mills, a 53 year old educational software expert, is being dubbed “The World’s Worst Dad” for leaving his 10 year old cancer patient son, 14 year old daughter with downs syndrome, 17 year old daughter with depression , and his 19 year old son who suffers from substance abuse, to lead a new life in the Philippines.

According to The Star, Mills fled due to a court ruling last month that gave his ex-wife spousal and child support that amounted in almost $4,000 a month.

Mills, who had extensive software contacts in Southeast Asia, told his wife in an email that he was fleeing Canada for good due to what he feels is “broken” family court system, ending the letter with, “Good bye and good luck”.

Mills claims it is not his intention to abandon his children and knows what he has done is terrible.

He is, however, emphatic about never returning to Canada – which is bad news for ex-wife Donna who has spent the past eight months trying to get Ontario’s Family Responsibility Office to track Hans down as she approaches bankruptcy.

Unfortunately for Donna, the Philippines is out of reach for Canadian laws.

It sounds like he couldn’t handle all this. Not all ppl r cut out 2 handle downs. Cancer may b hard enough, but downs would b much harder 2 handle. I knew so e 1 w/ a downs boy. I have no problem b’n around them but wouldn’t want the responsibility. I just don’t know how the single mom did it, she musta gone insane @ times, I sure would.

I’m on his side, read the full story before passing judgement the bitch was trying to squeeze every last penny from this guy and probably making his life impossible just because she wanted more money and didn’t like him. He already left her with millions. She’s a fucking gold digger.

Society saves its very worst punishments for men who “do the right thing” and “man up”. Think about a judgment of 4k per month, for life. Murderers and rapists don’t get it that bad. Good for him for leaving. The kids should be taken away from the mom if she can’t afford them. I’m sure they’d have a better life with their dad in the Philippines.

The bigger lesson here is, don’t get married to any woman. They all seem to turn into gold diggers whenever its convenient, and you’ll be reduced to slavery under these bigoted laws that are enforced. Just use women for sex and concentrate on your hobbies, and you’ll have a much easier life.

I really don’t blame the kids for being ‘severely messed up’ with a father like that.

I would never leave the country where my son was, however much it sucked. however, in the original divorce settlement, his wife got the $1,200,000 house, which included an apartment that could be rented out for nearly $2000 per month, and sole custody of the children, and monthly child support. she signed off on this.

later, she wanted more money, and the court upped his monthly payment to $4000 – she still had the 1.2 million house and the apartment to rent out. and he had to pay retroactive payments since the divorce at the increased rate of $4000 per month. in other words, since the agreement she already signed. oh, and all her court costs.

to the best of the dad’s knowledge, the kid is free of cancer, and the oldest kid is no longer dependent on the mother or living at home. she doesn’t need $4000 a month to live in a huge house with an apartment she can rent out.

again, i personally would never leave the country my kid was in, however broke it made me. couldn’t do it. but i can see why this guy is pissed.

Based on the comments, it’s totally understandable and cool if the dad leaves, but if the mother leaves she’s a heartless so-and-so. Whatever. This country is so friggin backwards it’s ridiculous. Disgusting.

Macabre July 4, 2012 at 11:18 pm: Agreed, though some depression hits a lot harder than others. Anyone at 19 shouldn’t think they’re clinically depressed. It’s a large transition into life; I was “depressed” at 19 too but it was because life ran me over with a train.
