Activists In Fury After Images Released Depicting Dogs Being, Killed, Cooked And Eaten In MARKET

(iWIDK by Kevin Erdman) - Artist Pian Shan Kong lead a group of activists who descended on Yulin City, Guangxi province, to protest the meat market and its practice of dogs being beat to released the blood into the meat, and then cooked in front of customers.

According to Daily Mail, China has yet to pass animal cruelty laws, though the countries growing affluence has created many more families with pets, and animal protection groups are springing up in cities all over China.

Eating dog has been socially acceptable in China for centuries, especially during winter months when food is scarce.

The anti-cruelty campaign has had some victories in battling against the practice, but the some of China still engages in killing and eating dog.

We treat animals that we consume here with just as much violence and pain. The way they slaughter cows and pigs here would make people sick if they knew. Its just how animals used for consumption are treated.

Oh, then are we savages for eating cows and such? It’s a cultural difference. The consumption of dogs is just as acceptable in China as is consumption of cows, pigs, poultry, etc for us. Pull the dick out of your asses and stop being so ignorant yeah?

I mean the problem isn’t the cultural difference though, it’s how they prepare the dog for consumption. I live in South Korea, and there is a similar practice here. The dog is beaten to death for several minutes to release adrenaline and enhance blood flow through the meat. Cows aren’t beaten to death, they are killed with an airgun, single-shot to the head. If the dogs were killed the same way then these people would be culturally ignorant. The point is no animal should be beaten slowly to death.

Cows may be shot in the head, but some of the animals remain cognizant. They are also prodded and beaten in captivity and en route to slaughterhouses. Some animals may not even be able to walk off the trucks and are brutally dragged. Chicken coops are disgusting in their own right where the live walk over the dead in dark, overcrowded coops.

Americans don’t do it better just because they don’t beat an animal in public. When it comes down to it, after death what does suffering matter? There are plenty of fucking backwards things we do that probably curl their toes, let them eat and prepare their food the way they want to and stop pushing the American ideals of right and wrong on everyone else.
