Kelicia Johnson-Chaney was shocked to learn that her four-year old had been locked inside of a lightless closet for five minutes or more because of bad behavior.
According to the Huffington Post, the students at Varnett Charter School had nicknamed this particular form of punishment the “monster closet.”
Faculty reportedly pushed against the door with their feet to keep the children from escaping.
Kelon Chaney was punished for laughing at another student who had been locked in the small space.
The teachers in question have been suspended – without pay – and an investigation is currently underway.
