(iWIDK By Ashley Woodhouse) – An elderly women passed away after being in the hospital for almost a week.
Nancy Harris, 76, the Garland convenience store cashier who was set on fire while being robbed on Sunday morning, passed away Friday evening at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, after being in critical condition for almost a week.
According to CBSDFW, Gerland Police stated that Harris was working at a Fina gas station and convenience store when Matthew Lee Johnson, 36, came in and set Harris on fire before robbing the store.
Johnson was arrested and charged with criminal attempted capital murder and has a current bond set at $1,000,000.
Harris was a grandmother of two, and had been an active member of the South Garland community for many years.
