Darlene Gant has been writing her 11-year-old son a decades worth of cards and made a video to the FDA raging about them not allowing the use of the drug Pertuzumab for cancer patients.

According to The Washington Post, Drug maker Roche announced in February that Pertuzumab was given priority review by the FDA because it promises positive effects on breast cancer.

Metastatic breast cancer patients increased their progression-free from 12.4 months to 18.5 months longer in a phase III clinical trial where Pertuzumab was mixed with two other chemotherapy drugs.

Grant believes that all women fighting breast cancer should be given a chance to survive from it with this drug and be able to parent their children.

The earliest date Pertuzumab would become available is June 8, 2012, but it will be very expensive, especially in its pill form.
